So we all remember when Beyonce sported the leopard print eyeshadow in her kitty kat video right? This past weekend was the Makeup show in New York City and it was amazing! With over 60 vendors and hundreds of industry insiders how could I not do tons of networking? We were introduced to tons of new products as well as the opportunity to take advantage of pro discounts. Over the next few days i will be posting some reviews as well as products that were new to me.
If you were not able to attend this year make arrangements to be there in 2009! Everyone was helpful and the energy was amazing.

Top of the morning to ya!
Hey everyone just wanted to update everyone about the Makeup Show 2008! Im sure everyone in the beauty industry has heard about it because its such a big deal! The last day to buy advanced tickets is today at 5pm!!! So if you dont have your ticket already that means get on your job! There is the option to pay the extra 15-20 bucks at the door if tickets are still available the day of the show. Hope to see you there!

Kool Aid Lips
As we are know the Pink lip is popular however, i am still unable to find my perfect shade of pink. Recently Mac has released several shades of pink in their Heatherette, Fafi, and Dress camp limited edition collections. The look has also been spotted on the runways of Louis Vuitton, D&G, and Elie Saab for their spring 2008 shows. Now a hot pink lip may be intimidating for some women! A softer version of the look can also be achieved using a sheer color like macs dazzelglass in love alert, joya lip gloss in pink petal rose, and Lipfit lipstick in pink grapfruit. I do urge women of color to try the bold colors Don't shy from them! I cant find my color now but i will search for my perfect shade high and low!
Don't stop with a pink lip! The classic red lip is always amazing when done correctly and Three Custom Colors have introduced there new collection of neon lip colors called Light Brights.

Dont sleep on them..
So I'm happy to see people are opening up to new brands especially women of color. I will never forget sitting at a makeup counter while the artist tried so hard to find my correct shade of foundation when she didn't have a shade darker than Alicia Keys complexion and i am clearly closer to Naomi Campbell's complexion..funny now that i think about it. Now days there is no need for women of color to walk around looking as ashy as the inside of an ash tray or as greased up as a Fashion Fair victim. , no no ladies (and gentleman) we have OPTIONS!

Okay okay i am fully aware of my addiction to bronzer and hope that i haven't been overdosing on it lately. Of course i made the fatal mistake of applying it all over and looking like a golden tin man! Luckily i caught my mistake prior to walking out the door however, there's just a rush I get when applying bronzer so how do i decipher when to wear it? When the sun hits the highlighted spots the outcome is amazing however at night when the camera flash my skin is luminous..hhhhmmm decisions decisions.
MAKEUP SYMPOSIUM 2008
This past weekend I attended the 2008 Makeup Symposium at Bennett Career Institute in Washington DC. The entire weekend was amazing the classes were taught by celebrity makeup artist like Billy B, Sam Fine (Pictured), James Vincent, and many more. The event included hands on classes and tons of new makeup products. Next years events are suppose to be bigger and better so began making arrangements to attend now!

My summer essentials
So this summer my makeup regimen is going to be light. I rarely wear foundation in the summer sometimes i will mix it with a light moisturizer. The MAC mineral skinfinishes are god sent! I love the glow and the flawless finish they give, I would recommend this to everyone!
